Goal:
One could argued that the true test of the durability of a menu is at the Blue Door. Pub fare isn't clean, it isn't fancy and it doesn't play well with delicate paper menus. For the Blue Door Pub’s menu redesign I had to find that sweet spot of durability in a high-volume restaurant environment without sacrificing style.
Answer:
A traditional, three column newspaper-style layout: bright and easy to navigate against the dark wood and cozy corners characteristic of the pub vibe.
The back of the menu features Blue Door’s story, playfully written in the shape of a burger. Topped with an illustrated blue pick (a Blucy signature).
